Chanukah Lights for the Whole Year
B”H
We had a blast lighting the gigantic Menorah in the World’s Oldest Ghetto each night of Chanukah. The first night, music, laughter, dancing, great food & fun was had by all, Venetians and travelers alike. The latkes, doughnuts and the kid’s program, loaded with tons of Chanukah trivia and prizes was a big hit. Throughout the week there were classes, activities & latke parties, like “The Miracle of the Oil of the Menorah & the Essential Oils of today.” Everyone learned about various essential oils and each one got to make their own mixture and take home a bottle.
As is known, light is compared to good and dark is like the bad. And since all it takes is a little flame to light up a big room, may we all increase in our good deeds, one little flame at a time, and together we can turn over all the darkness and create lots of light in the world. We hope that the light and joy of Chanukah lasts for each of you for the rest of the year. And if you haven’t seen the updated www.jewishvenice.org , be sure to check it out and let us know what you think.
